As Part of the GPCSPII initiative and in Partnership with the Parliament of Ghana the Parliamentary Committee on Poverty Reduction met with six key Ministries and Agencies

These were :

Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning

Ministry of Women and Children’s Affair

Ministry of Manpower and Employment

The National Development Planning Commission

The Millennium Development Authority

Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development

The discussions centered on 2007 budget allocations to the Ministries and their planned programs to make certain that they have links to priorities in the GPRSII. Other issues discussed related to poverty reduction dimension of planned activities under Millennium Challenge Account. The committee also review issues related to the National Youth Employment Program and the Micro Finance Scheme.
