Workshop on Annual Estimates for Clerks and Research Staff of Parliament Ends Print

The Ghana Budget and Finance Unit Project (Parliamentary Centre & USAID collaborative project) conducted the first training workshop from 25-29 June 2007, for staff of the Parliamentary Service on the Activate Performance Based Budgeting software. The training covered:

  • Preparation of a strategic plan;
  • Costing of Outputs and Activities;
  • Estimation of Personnel and Administration expenses;
  • Estimation of sources of funds preparation and review of work plans and cash flow forecasts;
  • Release of funds in lines with activities approved in the budget;
  • Basic monitoring of expenditures and output

The workshop was in pursuance of the objective of the Ghana Budget and Finance Unit Project to equip the Parliamentary Service with the necessary skills to provide unbiased information to MPs on the budget process and to strengthen Parliament’s capacity to exercise effective oversight on the national budget.
