Parliamentary Committees are formed after the first meeting of the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana, following the Election of the Speaker of Parliament and the Two Deputy Speakers of Parliament.

The Committee of Selection determines the composition and the membership of the various committees based on a ratio approved by Parliament. In the case of Ad Hoc or special Committees the Speaker or Leadership can nominate members.

When needed the Committee of Selection can consider and re-compose committees at the first meeting of every session.
