Bills and inquiries relating to finance and the economy are generally referred to the Finance Committee. They also see to the monitoring of foreign exchange transactions and International loans agreement between Ghana and other countries.

The Public Accounts Committee on the other hand is chaired by a member who does not belong to the party which controls the Executive branch of Government; and their duty is to examine the audited accounts showing sums granted by Parliament to meet public expenditure of government as presented to the House by the Auditor-General.
